Learn About Prepaid Owner Tabs!

What is a Prepaid Owner Tab?

As an Owner of Berkshire Food Co-op, you have access to your Prepaid Owner Tab. It’s another way to pay for your groceries, kind of like a house charge account. You get to put a sum of money on your Ownership account, and then use that to pay for your groceries! One major benefit of Owner Tabs is that you can load up as much money as you want in one go! It doesn’t go anywhere until you use it, and no one except you can touch it.

Prepaid Owner Tabs can even help us save money on credit card fees if you load them with cash or check!

How does it work?

If you’re an Owner and you’re interested in activating your Prepaid Owner Tab, we can help you out! There are two steps. First, we need to activate the Tab in your Ownership account on our end. Then, you add money to that account! There are a few ways of doing that.

How do I add money to my Owner Tab?

You can load money to your Owner Tab with a credit or debit card, cash, a check or Berkshares! The easiest way to do it is when you’re checking out in the store - just ask your cashier to help you add money.

When your tab is getting low, just repeat the process. We won’t call you when your Tab is low, and we don’t save any credit card information.

Can I share my Owner Tab with someone else?

Not really. Your Owner Tab is yours alone. The only way you can let someone access your Owner Tab is if you submit this form, which lets someone else use your Tab for one shopping trip.
