Guess what we’re doing?! With your help we will collect shelf stable food to donate to the People’s Pantry. But here’s the fun part: we will pass the items, one-by-one, assembly-line-style from the Co-op to the Pantry. We’re calling is the Great Community Pass.
Why the assembly line? To bring a sense of community in the process as well as bring awareness to the issue of food insecurity in our area. Imagine driving down Main St. and seeing 50 people lined up passing food? What a statement!
This is also a throwback to when the Co-op moved from Rosseter St. to Bridge St. and used the same method for moving items back in 2003. Remember this?! ⬇⬇
How can you help?:
Collect donations - bring them to us, or participating locations (TBA)
Spread the word - let people know about the initiative and encourage them to donate as much as they can
Gather volunteers - many hands make light work!
On November 20 you will bring your donations and volunteers to the Co-op. We will line up and get passing! Once all the food has been passed, we will gather in our soon-to-be Community Space for hot soup, bread, and celebration.
